Google Adwords payment options

Several options are available for paying for Google Adwords campaigns administered by ITw3.

Option A (payment only per invoice)

Adwords account is setup in the name of ITw3, and ITw3 arrange direct debit with Google.

Within the first 10 days of each month, ITw3 invoice the customer for:

  1. the previous month's actual spend less the amount on account for that month;
  2. administration charge for the previous month;
  3. the agreed budget on account for the following month.

Providing funds are received prior to the end of the month in which the invoice is issued, Adwords continues seamlessly.

Intra-month increases to the campaign budget in excess of £300 will require funds on account, resulting in a delay while invoices are raised and funds received.

Option B (standing order, invoiced later)

Adwords account is setup in the name of ITw3, and ITw3 arrange direct debit with Google.

Within the first 5 days of each month, the customer deposits the agreed monthly budget with ITw3 for the that month, optionally by standing order, along with settlement of last invoice.

Within the first 10 days of each month, ITw3 invoice the customer for:

  1. the previous month's actual spend less the amount on account for that month;
  2. administration charge for the previous month;
  3. agreed budget for the current month (normally already received on account).

Providing funds are received within the first 5 days of the month for that month's agreed budget plus settlement of the last invoice, Adwords continues seamlessly.

Intra-month increases to the campaign budget in excess of £300 will require funds on account, but can be applied to the account as soon as funds are deposited with ITw3.

Option C (customer pays Google directly)

Adwords account is setup in the name of the customer, and the customer arranges a direct debit or credit card with Google.

Due to the way in which the Google Adwords control panel works, ITw3 will have visibility of the payment details on the account.

Google will withdraw funds from the customer's account or credit card in arrears (typically every £500 of spend), and make available an online invoice at the end of each month covering all funds withdrawn.

Each month, ITw3 will invoice the customer the administration charge for the previous month, and forward a PDF copy of the Google invoice downloaded from the Adwords control panel.

Intra-month increases to the campaign budget can be applied immediately and charged by Google in arrears.

Google Adwords control panel access

Options A and B: customer can have read-only access to the Adwords control panel including full access to reports.

Option C: in addition to read-only access, customer can opt to have full access to the Adwords control panel including the ability to administer the daily budget or payment details.

VAT notes

Google invoices are issued from Ireland net of VAT.

Google's UK customers are required by HMRC to apply a VAT reverse charge to each invoice per http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/vat/managing/international/imports/importing.htm

With Options A or B above, ITw3 administer the reverse charge on payments made to Google, and invoices from ITw3 to EU customers will include VAT at the prevailing rate.

With Option C, the customer is responsible for administering the VAT reverse charge.

FAQ

Q. Can we cancel the campaign at anytime if it is not successful and without charges?

A. With most campaigns Google only charge for ad clicks, not for ad impressions, and apart from a small setup charge, there are no ongoing account fees. Therefore if the campaign is paused or cancelled, there are no subsequent charges, you only pay for the clicks to date, plus the ITw3 administration fees up to the end of the month in which the campaign was paused or cancelled. Any unused funds on account with ITw3 will be returned, or with your agreement, can be kept on account for payment of other ITw3 services.

Q. If we set a monthly budget and don’t use the amount set does the balance not used roll over on a monthly basis to be added into the monthly balance?

A. The agreed budget is the maximum you will be billed for Google per click fees.  If the spend within a calendar month is less than the agreed budget, you will be credited the unused portion of any funds deposited on account with ITw3, and the ongoing budget can be adjusted if required.  Any funds deposited with ITw3 are just to cover the maximum spend for that month, and anything unused will be credited back in the next monthly invoice.

Q. Can we change the monthly amounts up or down whenever we like?

Yes, the budget can be adjusted up or down at any time, and is normally actioned within a few hours, or no later than 1 working day after the request.  However, if the budget is increased by more than £300 in excess of the funds on account with ITw3 for that month, additional funds may need to be deposited on account to cover ITw3's increased commitment to Google.
