Joomla! is another CMS which, like MediaWiki, provides a database from which website content is served on demand via an HTML/PHP/CSS 'skin' which determines how the information is presented to the viewer.
MediaWiki and Joomla! both have strong followings as platforms for content management systems, but Joomla! fails to hit the grade in many areas.
ITw3 have created Joomla! based websites including chartdatum.com, but we strongly believe that, for the majority of websites primarily promoting corporate image, where page change management and auditing is essential, perhaps for ISO9001 compliance, MediaWiki is superior to Joomla! for a number of reasons, summarised below.
During the next few years, we believe quality focused organisations will insist on CMS platforms that provide full change management capabilities for content. Joomla! doesn't and is unlikely ever to, so why wait, when you can have all these capabilities now from an ITw3 Web Solution?...
